Configuring the relationship between the Throughput AO Maximum and Throughput AO Committed settings in SMS Applications

Overview

You may be configuring a new SMS Application or modifying an existing one in the MGR GUI, and you wish to know what the recommended relationship is between the settings "Throughput AO Maximum" and "Throughput AO Committed", i.e. you wish to know whether you should set the values as equal or one greater than the other.

Information

  1. The Throughput AO Committed value is used in times of congestion, as the minimum throughput value, while the Throughput AO Maximum value is used as the default throughput value.
  2. Thus, in order not to overload the system, it is recommended that the rule
Throughput AO Committed" <= Throughput AO Maximum be followed while configuring the application in the MGR GUI.
  3. This will ensure that the minimum throughput that the system has to commit to in times of congestion is lower than or equal to that during normal functioning.
