Overview

You would like to know what the Expire Time field does, its unit values, when is it activated, and how it affects the system (Entity) operation once set.

Information

If the incoming message’s expire date is empty, the expiration date will be set as the current date + duration configured in the field "Expire Time".

The format for Expire Time  is "xsd:duration" (PnYnMnDTnHnMnS), e.g. P2D will mean "expire in 2 days", P2DT6H will mean "expire in 2 days and 6 hours." You can read more about xsd:duration here.

The Expire time settings will be activated immediately once the setting has been completed.

You can modify the Expire Time field by following these steps:

1. Open the MMSC GUI.
2. Navigate to Entities under Components.
3. Specify the threshold value on the Expire time field.
4. Click Save.
