Overview
A failed disc was replaced with a new disc recently and a raid configuration error occurred after the disc change. You would like to know if the raid configuration error is related to the disc change.
Information
Under normal circumstances, changing a faulty disk does not break the raid configuration. When it is needed to replace a failed disk, simply a new disk is inserted on the slot of the old disk. It is not needed to reconfigure the raid since the disks should synchronize automatically.
If such an error occurs, please contact support with below information:
- The details about the error
- The output of the following command:
# hpssacli ctrl all show config
- The steps that were performed during the disc change
- The steps that were recommended by the hardware provider (e.g. HP) to resolve this issue
