Is the swapping of origaddressGSM value in CDR normal?

Overview

This article addresses whether the swapping of origaddressGSM value in CDR is normal or not. The origAddressGSM Hex value in the generated Billing CDR seems byte inverted to the actual value as shown in the snapshot below:

• This is normal and expected.
• This format (appearing to be inverted/swapped) actually follows the network byte order of SCCP addressing, where bits are read from right to left, and that is why they appear as byte inverted in the bytes of CDR.
• This may also be validated if we analyze the trace of the actual message using WireShark or a similar trace analyzer tool.
• ITU Q173 specs define SCCP addressing.
