NewNet Troubleshooting Command-Line Tools

Overview

This article explains some of the command-line tools available for troubleshooting purposes.

For a detailed description of the tools below, please refer to the RTR Operator Manual and the Tools Operator Manual.

`m3ua_link`	It allows you to: Show the status of the M3UA link. Enable or disable the M3UA SGP admin state. Display the information fields for all the peer SGPs, along with the M3UA SGP information. Enable or disable the M3UA ASP admin state. Display the information fields for all the M3UA ASP information in Multi-Instance mode.
`ss7_link`	It allows you to: Show the status of the link (including error conditions). Receive and display all traps related to the link. Enable or disable the link.
`tp_event`	It allows you to decode an event log file created by an event log profile.
`tp_fcdr` `tp_lcdr` `tp_ecdr` `tp_ncdr` `tp_ccdr` `tp_scdr` `tp_3g_cdr`	It allows you to decode and view CDR files of all supported types.
`tp_log`	It allows you to decode a log file created by a log profile.
`tp_manage_user`	It allows you to manage users in a multi-instance setup.
`tp_status`	It provides the operational state and uptime of components.
`tp_system`	It allows you to: View the software and hardware information. Activate licenses. Boot the system. Enable and disable subscriptions to the trap service.
`tp_trace_receiver`	It receives trace data from components and writes it to a PCAP file.
`tp_walk`	It provides the real-time value of any SNMP attribute.
`tp_walkall`	It provides the real-time value of all SNMP attributes.

`gcore`	It generates a core file.
`hostid`	It provides the host ID of the system (required for a license).
`ifconfig`	It provides an overview of the IP configuration.
`netstat`	It provides an overview of the IP network statistics.
`ping`	An IP diagnostic command.
`top`	It shows statistics about active processes.
`ps`	It provides information about processes.
`sar`	It provides performance data.
`tcpdump`	It gathers trace network traffic on the TCP/IP level.
